General Questions

1. What services do you offer?

We offer 1-on-1 personal training.

2. What are your qualifications and certifications?

Our trainers are knowledgable, involved contributors to the fitness world with valid certifications from trusted licencing agencies. Click here for more information about our trainers. 

3. Where are you located?

Fix Posture and Build Confidence sessions take place at TO Kinesiology near Bathurst and Queen in Downtown Toronto. 


               

Break a Sweat sessions take place at 9Round near Bathurst and St. Clair in Downtown Toronto.  

           

Master the Water sessions take place in public and private pools throughout the Toronto Downtown Area.

4. Do you work with beginners?


We focus on beginner lifters with our current packages: Fix Posture & Build Confidence. These sessions are ideal for those just starting out in a gym setting. Both beginners and experienced lifters enjoy our Break a Sweat session or benefit from our Master the Water sessions. For more experienced clients, please stay tuned for Swim, Lift, Repeat and Physique Focus in 2025.


Scheduling and Sessions



5. How do I book a session?

Please send us an email with your phone number and a time that is convienent for us to call you. This is to ensure we can briefly discuss fitness goals and obstacles and prepare a custom workout for your upcoming session. Shortly afterwards you will recieve a link for your session where you can purchase using Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Credit, or American Express (Amex).     

6. What’s your cancellation/rescheduling policy?

We provide full refunds for cancellations 2 days prior to appointment, and 50% refund for cancellation within 24-48 hours. There are no refunds for sessions cancelled within 24 hours.  

7. What’s the duration of a typical session?

All sessions are one hour (60minutes). We ask that all clients arrive on time and ready to go as we do not have flexibility for end time. For more experienced clients seeking longer sessions, please send us an email

8. Do you offer free consultations or trial sessions?

All potential clients recieve a FREE phone consultation (10-15min) where we discuss exercise history, obstacles, and make a plan for achieving their fitness goals. 


Training and Customization



9. Do you create customized workout plans?

We tailor all workout plans to the needs and goals of our clients. We are happy to spend a portion of class time designing workout plans for our clients to complete independently.

10. What if I have injuries or health conditions?

We work within your range of comfortable and safe movement. Exercises can easily be substituted for alternatives depending on the condition of the client. All clients are required to fill out a PAR-Q+ before their first session.  

11. Do I need to buy equipment?

Our gym studio for Fix Posture & Build Confidence is fully set up for all styles of weightlifting. We have a squat rack, bench, variety of attachments for cables, dumbells, bands, etc. For Break a Sweat, we welcome clients to bring their own hand wraps and boxing gloves (no worries if not!). For Master the Water, please bring goggles, a towel and snug swim gear.

12. Can I train with a friend or group?

We are currently only offering our classes as private sessions. 


Pricing and Payments



13. How much do your sessions cost?

All sessions are $60 for one hour. 

14. Do you offer packages or discounts?

Yes! For every friend you refer who makes a purchase, you will recieve a $10 off voucher for your next session. 

15. What payment methods do you accept?

We take payments through Stripe. Stripe accepts Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Credit, and American Express (Amex). 


Results and Progress



16. How long will it take to see results?

We aim to help all clients make improvements from one session to the next.

17. Do you track progress during training?

We keep track of client progress to ensure sessions are consistently challenging and interesting. We encourage clients to use apps, photos, videos, notebooks, or any other tracking method that will work best for them to see their progress week-to-week. Please note that for Master the Water sessions, video recording is prohibited within most partner pools for privacy reasons.

18. Do you help with nutrition or meal plans?

Our scope of practice for nutrition is limited to providing general guidance and advice. We are not qualified to diagnose, prescribe, or treat medical conditions or create individualized meal plans.


Virtual and Online Training



19. Do you offer virtual training sessions?

We currently do not offer online training sessions. Stay posted! 


Miscellaneous



20. What’s the minimum age for clients?

Generally we only work with children aged 13 years or older. Please email us for more details.

21. Can I bring my child or pet to sessions?

We do not allow children or pets in the studio.

22. Do you offer gift cards?

Check back soon! We offer gift cards through seasonal promotions.

23. What happens if I miss a session?

We provide full refunds for cancellations more than 48 hours prior to appointment, and 50% refund for cancellation within 24-48 hours. There are no refunds for sessions cancelled within 24 hours.  

24. What should I bring to a session?

For Fix Posture & Build Confidence, bring a water bottle, towel, comfortable gymwear, clean athletic shoes, or socks/bare feet you feel comfortable working out in. 

For Break a Sweat, bring a water bottle, towel, comfortable gymwear, any gloves and hand wraps you currently own(optional), and socks/bare feet you feel comfortable working out in!

For Master the Water, please bring goggles, a towel and snug swim gear.
